The Giants for some reason signed Beasley in August, cut him, then re-signed him to the practice squad. He’s languished there for two months and this week requested his release from the practice squad. Beasley, 34, probably won’t see NFL game action again.

Beasley was added to the Giants’ slot-infested receiver room prior to the season. He was cut and signed to the team’s practice squad before being put on practice squad injured reserve with a leg injury. If he can return to full health, Beasley could be called up from the practice squad to play for an underwhelming Giants offense.

The leg injury that plagued Beasley during the preseason will now send the veteran wide receiver to the practice squad injured reserve. Beasley had been a candidate to receive the game day call-up but will now be faced with an additional obstacle with his health. The Giants signed former Commanders wide receiver Cam Sims to their practice squad in an associated move.

Beasley was cut on Tuesday when the Giants got down to their 53-man roster. His release and subsequent addition to the practice squad has been expected. He will work his way back from a leg injury that has held him out of practice and should be called up to the team’s gameday roster later this year.
