2024 Player Outlook
After not playing in 2022, Odell returned to join the Ravens last season. And it went how you might expect as he dealt with some injuries and played a mostly part-time role en route to 35 catches for 565 yards and 3 TDs in 14 games. This year he will join the Dolphins who heavily feature a tight end rather than a full-time WR3. That likely means Odell will be a part-time player unless something happens to Jaylen Waddle or Tyreek Hill.

Dolphins waived WR Odell Beckham Jr.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says Beckham “is hoping for more opportunities elsewhere.” Beckham’s tenure with the Dolphins ends with nine catches for 55 yards on 18 targets. The veteran receiver never fully found his footing in Miami. Beckham signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins during the offseason after spending 2023 with the Ravens but opened the year on the reserve/PUP list after undergoing surgery for an undisclosed injury. Beckham will be on waivers until Monday. If he clears, he will be free to sign with any team and would likely join up with a contender on their practice squad.
Odell Beckham caught his lone target for one yard in the Dolphins’ Week 14 win against the Jets.
Beckham remains a part-time player in the Miami offense. He didn’t draw a look until the fourth quarter and ran a route on just 10 of the Dolphins’ 52 drop backs. OBJ has one game with more than two catches on the season and won’t hold fantasy relevance unless Jaylen Waddle or Tyreek Hill miss time.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said he thought Odell Beckham Jr. “looked as comfortably as he’s looked” in Week 8 and could see “more involvement.”
Per PFF, Beckham ran a season-high 11 routes in the Dolphins’ Week 8 loss to the Colts. It was two more routes than he ran in Weeks 5 and 7. The veteran receiver has yet to catch a pass in any of his three games as a Dolphin and is looking more like a failed experiment than a savvy veteran signing through the first eight weeks of the season. We won’t dispute the idea that OBJ could see more involvement going forward, but the Dolphins have run the third-fewest pass plays out of 11 personnel per FantasyPoints.com. As long as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are healthy, there won’t be much left for OBJ in the target order.
Odell Beckham was held without a catch on two targets in Miami’s Week 7 loss to the Colts.
That was the same statline Beckham posted in his Week 5 debut. Tua Tagovailoa’s absence is an asterisk, but not even the quarterback’s expected return for Week 8 against the Cardinals is going to make OBJ 12-team league relevant. Keep him on the waiver wire.
