Jonah Heim drove in a run while going 2-for-4 in a loss Monday to the Athletics.
Heim got the Rangers on the board with an RBI single in the sixth, but it was the last run Texas would score against JP Sears and the Athletics’ bullpen. Heim has enjoyed a solid first month of the 2025 campaign with a slash os .261/.301/.464, but he’s only driven in nine runs over his 21 games.
Jonah Heim went 2-for-4 and delivered a walkoff hit in the bottom of the ninth as the Rays edged the Rays 4-3 on Sunday.
Heim even stole a base for the ninth time in his career. The start today was his fifth in 10 games this season, as the Rangers have had he and Kyle Higashioka splitting time evenly thus far. That might start to change with Heim currently 6-for-18 with two homers. Higashioka is 3-for-16.
Jonah Heim went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs on Friday against the Red Sox.
Heim made the most of his season debut with two long balls. His second one was especially impressive: a no-doubter clubbed an estimated 417 ft deep into the right field stands. He is expected to be in a fairly even timeshare with the newly acquired Kyle Higashioka this season, but can definitely make an impact with the bat when he’s in the lineup.
Rangers and C Jonah Heim avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.575 million contract.
The 29-year-old backstop had a down season offensively in 2024, slashing .220/.267/.336 with 13 homers, 59 RBI and one stolen base in 491 plate appearances. With Kyle Higashioka now in town, he’ll need to quickly improve upon that performance or risk ending up as the understudy to the free agent addition.
