Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 on Tuesday to extend his hitting streak to nine games.
Both hits tonight were singles. Bohm is still without a homer even though he’s been credited with six barrels this season. At least he’s raised his average from .150 to 211 during the hitting streak.
Alec Bohm has been dropped to the seventh spot in the Phillies’ lineup for Thursday evening’s showdown against the Braves.
The slumping 28-year-old third baseman is slashing a woeful .178/.196/.200 with zero homers, three RBI and a 10/1 K/BB ratio through his first 10 games on the season, so it’s understandable why manager Rob Thomson would try to shake things up in his lineup. Nick Castellanos will take his place in the cleanup spot against right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach on Thursday.
Alec Bohm is sitting for the first time this season Sunday against the Dodgers.
Bohm is off to a cold start with his torpedo bat, but Statcast thinks he’s been extremely unlucky, giving him a .318 xBA and a .516 xSLG with his three barrels and 57% hard-hit rate. His actual line is .200/.222/.229 with no homers in 36 plate appearances. Edmundo Sosa is filling in at third today.
Alec Bohm delivered a go-ahead two-run double in the 10th inning on Thursday, lifting the Phillies to a 7-3 season-opening victory over the Nationals.
