2025 Player Outlook
Arraez won his third consecutive batting title in 2024 and should continue to leadoff for the Padres. He is not a great producer in other categories, but he should threaten for another batting title and score plenty of runs. Arraez is in a walk year, so he should be motivated to put together another strong offensive campaign.

Padres placed INF Luis Arraez on the 7-day concussion injured list.
The move is now official. Arraez remains in concussion protocol following a scary-looking collision with Astros infielder Mauricio Dubón during Sunday night’s contest at Daikin Park. There should be some clarity on the 28-year-old infielder’s status at some point in the coming days, but fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least one week for now. The Padres have called up light-hitting infielder Mason McCoy to take his spot on the active roster.
Luis Arraez is in the concussion protocol and will go on the seven-day injured list.
Arraez came out of Sunday’s collision better than it looked initially, but he’s going to miss some time. No word yet on his roster replacement, but Luis Campusano has been crushing baseballs in Triple-A and could be called up to help out at DH, leaving Gavin Sheets and Yuli Gurriel to platoon at first base.
Luis Arraez (head) was released from the hospital and rejoined the Padres on Sunday evening in Houston.
He’ll stay in Houston overnight and as long as he’s feeling alright he’ll join the Padres in Detroit on Monday. Arraez was in good spirits, smiling and talking with teammates and reporters on Sunday night and it sounds like he was extremely fortunate to have avoided any significant injuries in his scary collision with Mauricio Dubon.
The Padres announced that Luis Arraez is currently stable, conscious, responsive and able to move his extremities and has been transported to Houston Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.
Arraez was involved in a scary collision with Astros’ second baseman Mauricio Dubon in the first inning of Sunday night’s battle against the Astros and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. It’s definitely an encouraging update from the medical team, and about as good as you could have hoped given the situation. Look for the Padres to continue to update the situation as soon as more information becomes available.
