Freeman smacked a two-out double off of Kevin Gausman in the opening inning and scored the game’s first run on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Will Smith. He also drew an intentional walk in the eighth inning. It has been a bit of a rough postseason overall for the 36-year-old superstar, as he’s slashing just .222/.340/.400 with one homer, one RBI and an 11/2 K/BB ratio in 53 plate appearances.

Freeman has been moved up to the third spot behind Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts to face Brewers ace Freddy Peralta on Tuesday night at American Family Field with Teoscar Hernández dropped all the way down to the sixth spot behind Will Smith and Max Muncy. The 36-year-old veteran batted cleanup in each of the Dodgers first five postseason contests. His sixth-inning solo homer against Milwaukee reliever Chad Patrick helped power Los Angeles to a narrow series-opening win on Monday night.
