Freddie Freeman

2025 Player Outlook

Freeman remains one of the most productive first basemen in the league despite entering his age-35 season. He still possesses elite plate skills, with a walk rate above 12 percent and a strikeout rate below 16 percent. Freeman did experience some regression in the power department last season, posting a slugging percentage below .500 for the first time in nine seasons.  But his premium lineup spot in the most potent offense in baseball should afford him plenty of opportunities to both drive in and score runs.

Freddie Freeman crushed a game-winning solo home run in the 18th inning to lift the Dodgers to a 6-5 walk-off win over the Blue Jays in Game 3 of the World Series.

In every October run, there’s a swing that becomes shorthand for everything else. This one will be remembered forever — especially if the Dodgers go on to win their second straight title. Freeman put the exclamation point on the longest game in World Series history, ending a nearly seven-hour extra-inning marathon with a majestic fly ball that barely cleared the center-field fence. This game had everything: spectacular defense on both sides, heroic relief outings from unheralded arms like Toronto lefty Eric Lauer — who fired 4 2/3 shutout frames — and Dodgers righty Will Klein, who delivered four scoreless innings on a career-high 72 pitches. And, as the 19th inning loomed, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was warming up in the bullpen — just two days removed from throwing a 105-pitch complete game. The two clubs will meet again in just a few hours for Game 4 of the Fall Classic at Dodger Stadium with Shohei Ohtani taking the mound opposite Shane Bieber. Are you not entertained?

Freddie Freeman went 1-for-3 with a double, walk and a run scored as the Dodgers bested the Blue Jays in Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday.

Freeman smacked a two-out double off of Kevin Gausman in the opening inning and scored the game’s first run on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Will Smith. He also drew an intentional walk in the eighth inning. It has been a bit of a rough postseason overall for the 36-year-old superstar, as he’s slashing just .222/.340/.400 with one homer, one RBI and an 11/2 K/BB ratio in 53 plate appearances.

Freeman has been moved up to the third spot behind Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts to face Brewers ace Freddy Peralta on Tuesday night at American Family Field with Teoscar Hernández dropped all the way down to the sixth spot behind Will Smith and Max Muncy. The 36-year-old veteran batted cleanup in each of the Dodgers first five postseason contests. His sixth-inning solo homer against Milwaukee reliever Chad Patrick helped power Los Angeles to a narrow series-opening win on Monday night. Here’s the full lineup: Ohtani (DH), Betts (SS), Freeman (1B), Smith (C), Muncy (3B), Hernández (RF), Tommy Edman (2B), Enrique Hernández (LF) and Andy Pages (CF).

Freddie Freeman walloped a solo homer to propel the Dodgers to a 2-1 victory over the Brewers in Monday’s NLCS Game 1 showdown.

Freeman broke a scoreless deadlock with a towering solo shot to right — his first homer of the postseason — off Brewers reliever Chad Patrick in the sixth inning. The 36-year-old veteran continues to thrive in big moments, as his blast shifted the momentum of the series opener in Milwaukee and provided just enough support for Blake Snell’s eight-inning masterpiece. Watching Freeman continue to come through in October contests feels less like seeing someone rise to the occasion and more like watching inevitability unfold.
