Welcome to the DFS Dart Board for NFL Week 11!
If you're new to Fantasy Alarm/DFS Alarm, the Dart Board is an add-on to the Playbook that I started three or four seasons ago. It came about when I was building GPP lineups and realized I needed more salary relief. As I dug through my notes to see who stood out the most among those players at a more affordable price, it hit me. When I put players in the Playbook, I am thinking primarily about cash lineup plays -- guys with a high floor who I could conceivably put into my core-group and build a lineup around. After those players, I would mix in a handful of guys who had boatloads of upside and were in soft match-ups, but I wasn’t paying as much attention to their salary as I should have. And that's where the Dart Board came into play.
Every now and then, when building lineups while using particular stacks, you need some salary relief. You need a guy who may not be minimally priced, but low enough to give you the flexibility you need to get someone like Dalvin Cook or DK Metcalf in as a flex play or something. Occasionally you may see a min-priced QB or TE in here, but more often than not, this space is reserved for running backs and wide receivers who are $5,500 and lower on FanDuel or like $5,000 or lower on Draft Kings.
Now while we call this a Dart Board, keep in mind that every player has been carefully researched. We're not up here picking players all willy-nilly, desperately hoping they hit. We're looking for the cheapest bargains possible who still have the strongest potential to give you at least a 3-5x return on what you pay.
All set? Great. Let's take a look at who we've got this week...
Pos (Click to sort ascending) | Player (Click to sort ascending) | Matchup (Click to sort ascending) | DK (Click to sort ascending) | FD (Click to sort ascending) |
---|---|---|---|---|
RB | D'Onta Foreman | DET @ CLE Sun 1:00 | 4900 | 6200 |
He doesn't exactly fit the mold of a bargain if you're looking at the FD price, but under $5K on DK and under $15 on Yahoo certainly qualify. If you're wondering why he didn't make the Playbook after I discussed his revenge-game narrative all week, it's simple – Adrian Peterson. Foreman is going to see a strong share of the carries, but there is obvious concern that, when the Titans are at the goal-line, Peterson gets the nod from head coach Mike Vrabel. Foreman gives you a decent bargain running back option for GPP tournaments, so if you need to save a few shekels on DK and Yahoo, he might be a worthy pivot off the Jeff Wilsons and Mark Ingrams of the world. WR | Jamison Crowder | WAS @ CAR Sun 1:00 | 4700 | 5700 |
While everyone oohs and aahs over Elijah Moore's numbers over these last three weeks, keep in mind that Joe Flacco is under center and he could, very easily, turn to what he knows and not to some rookie wideout. During his first stint with the Jets, Flacco had Crowder as his top target and is very likely to go right back to him, especially with a match-up against struggling slot-corners Justin Coleman and Nik Needham. He's priced up a little more than we would like on Fan Duel, but as a salary-saver here on DK, Crowder could be a huge boost to your lineups. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
WR | Bryan Edwards | NO @ PHI Sun 1:00 | 4100 | 5500 |
As I mentioned in the Hunter Renfrow write-up in the Playbook, Edwards is in just as good a spot as any with this match-up against the Bengals secondary. But with everyone salivating over Renfrow, Edwards becomes the guy you want to pivot to in large-field GPP tournaments. His ownership forecast right now is like a five-percent differential, but once the final numbers come in, I am expecting a much wider margin. He only sees about four targets per game, but he's got touchdowns in two of his last three and the price is definitely right. Game Type: GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
WR | Mecole Hardman | DAL @ KC Sun 4:25 | 4000 | 5500 |
If you're looking for a way to get exposure to the Kansas City side of this game but don't want to spend up for the big boys, Hardman becomes an option for those setting multiple lineups in large-field multi-entry GPP tournaments. He was averaging about six targets per game before last week's minimized effort, but still has plenty of potential, especially in a match-up like this where everyone is feasting on the top names and ignoring the rest. Game Type: GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
WR | Quez Watkins | PIT @ LAC Sun 8:20 | 3700 | 5300 |
As Jon Impemba pointed out on the NFL DFS Podcast, the Saints biggest weakness in coverage is against the slot receiver. They've been flip-flopping between Bradley Roby and P.J. Williams with the latter seeing the bulk of the snaps over the last two games. And if you recall from years past, Williams has always been one of my favorite targets in DFS. He sucks in coverage. Sucks. There's no nice way to put it, so please don't send this to his mom or wife or girlfriend. But it's true. Watkins has fantastic potential to sneak into the end zone with this match-up and could be a huge savings for your lineups. Game Type: GPP Weather: Partly cloudy | ||||
WR | Cedrick Wilson | NO @ PHI Sun 1:00 | 3200 | 4900 |
LATE ADD – IN truth, I'm not sure how I forgot Wilson, especially with the news on Amari Cooper and the fact that we haven't heard anything regarding any of the other wide receivers in Dallas. Wilson carved out a decent role for himself while Michael Gallup was out and should be involved fairly heavily during three-receiver sets. Prescott is going to have to spread the ball around to keep the Chiefs defense off-balance and the speedy Wilson moving in and out of the slot is going to be a very helpful weapon. Game Type: GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
TE | John Bates | WAS @ CAR Sun 1:00 | 2500 | 4800 |
Hmmmm. Which TE Whisperer came a-calling first here? Was it me on the Fantasy Alarm Show? Was it Andrew Coooper in the TE coach? Or is Impemba trying to mow our lawn now with TE whispers on the podcast? Either way, the three of us have all said the exact same thing – Logan Thomas saw 100% of the snaps when he played. Ricky Seals-Jones played 100% of the snaps when it was his turn to start and now it looks like with both out, Bates is in line for the same treatment. In fact, he saw 100% of the snaps following RSJ's exit last week. Carolina plays the tight end pretty well, but they're still allowing almost 50 receiving yards per game to them and they've allowed just over 11 fantasy points per game on average too. Game Type: GPP Weather: Cloudy |
