Welcome to the DFS Dart Board for NFL Week 10!
If you're new to Fantasy Alarm/DFS Alarm, the Dart Board is an add-on to the Playbook that I started three or four seasons ago. It came about when I was building GPP lineups and realized I needed more salary relief. As I dug through my notes to see who stood out the most among those players at a more affordable price, it hit me. When I put players in the Playbook, I am thinking primarily about cash lineup plays -- guys with a high floor who I could conceivably put into my core-group and build a lineup around. After those players, I would mix in a handful of guys who had boatloads of upside and were in soft match-ups, but I wasn’t paying as much attention to their salary as I should have. And that's where the Dart Board came into play.
Every now and then, when building lineups while using particular stacks, you need some salary relief. You need a guy who may not be minimally priced, but low enough to give you the flexibility you need to get someone like Dalvin Cook or DK Metcalf in as a flex play or something. Occasionally you may see a min-priced QB or TE in here, but more often than not, this space is reserved for running backs and wide receivers who are $5,500 and lower on FanDuel or like $5,000 or lower on Draft Kings.
Now while we call this a Dart Board, keep in mind that every player has been carefully researched. We're not up here picking players all willy-nilly, desperately hoping they hit. We're looking for the cheapest bargains possible who still have the strongest potential to give you at least a 3-5x return on what you pay.
All set? Great. Let's take a look at who we've got this week...

RB | Brandon Bolden | KC @ LV Sun 8:20 | 4400 | 5100 |
**ONLY IF DAMIEN HARRIS & RHAMONDRE STEVENSON ARE OUT** We've received word that Harris is out, so Bolden could still end up a low-end option anyway, but I really only want to use him unless both are sidelined with their concussions. The Browns have a solid run defense, but their pass-rushers tend to over-commit which is likely the reason they rank 24th in DVOA against running back pass plays. If Bolden is getting the full complement of touches out of the backfield, he certainly becomes an intriguing option, but he remains a GPP dart only because of Bill Belichick's unpredictability. WR | Deonte Harty | BAL @ MIA Thu 8:20 | 4000 | 5400 |
While the Titans rank eighth in DVOA against the pass, they somehow rank 21st and 25th against the opposing WR2 and slot-receiver, allowing an average of 79.1 and 85.6 receiving yards respectively. Harris does a great job gaining separation thanks to his speed and should be able to gain position on either Janoris Jenkins or Elijah Molden, depending on where he's lined up. He's now seen 15 targets in his last two games and is slowly developing a nice rapport with current Saints QB Trevor Siemian. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy
WR | James Washington | ATL @ DAL Sun 1:00 | 3500 | 5100 |
If you heard me on the Fantasy Alarm Show on SiriusXM on Friday, you know I'm not a big fan of Washington. But with Chase Claypool officially out, Washington is likely to see a bump in snaps this week and that could turn into a bump in targets if the Steelers decide they need/want to air it out at all. I don't see a lot of volume coming his way, but we've seen him catch that random long touchdown in the past, so for a GPP deep-dive, it just might be worth it, especially with a secondary as bad as that of the Lions. UPDATE: Believe it or not, I might actually be a little more bullish on using Washington as a pay-down in GPP tournaments. I won't put my trust in him for cash games, but knowing that he and Rudolph have been working together with the second-team throughout practices this whole time, their chemistry is probably pretty good. WR | Tyler Johnson | LA @ SF Mon 8:15 | 3300 | 5100 |
If Chris Godwin is in, I still may use Johnson in a GPP tournament as part of a Bucs stack, but if Godwin is out, then I will happily use Johnson as a pay-down in cash games in order to get some bigger talent into the lineup. I may also consider Jaelon Darden as a potential GPP dart-throw too, but one thing at a time. With Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski out, so Tom Brady is already losing two of his top targets. The absence of Godwin is likely to put some serious targets in Johnson's hands. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy
TE | Cameron Brate | TB @ WAS Sun 1:00 | 2700 | 4500 |
This play is independent of Godwin's status as we know how the Bucs offense, Brady in particular, likes to target the tight end both between the 20s and inside the red zone. If we're playing the percentages, Brate plays more snaps and runs more routes than O.J. Howard does, so we'll lean towards him, especially with his five red zone targets over the last three games as opposed to the two Howard has seen in that span. Game Type: GPP Weather: Cloudy |
